GET TO KNOW EWEN

Originally from Paris, France, Ewen and his family have been living in Costa Rica for more than 6 years.

He and his family were looking for a new way of life for a while and in 2015, they stumbled upon Costa Rica. After an extensive trip through the country, going North to South, they started looking for properties in the Guanacaste region and especially the Northern part, attractive because of its growth and proximity to the International Airport.

A few tours later they had put an offer on a beautiful Ocean View property in Playa Ocotal that they ended up renovating into a small boutique hotel of 6 rooms.

It doesn't take long to fall in love with Costa Rica. Ewen has always been passionate about nature and beautiful landscapes. Being tech-savvy, he always has his camera/drone with him and captures every stunning sunset/wildlife moment Costa Rica has to offer.

After settling down in Costa Rica, he started working as a photographer and marketing consultant for Palm Real Estate in Playas del Coco where he was able to dive into the growing real estate market, obtain the real estate license and, after a year he took his passion further to become a full-time Real Estate agent and relocation expert.

Ewen is now Director of Sales & Marketing and exclusively represents Christie's International Real Estate in the Papagayo region of Costa Rica. Ewen has developed a great market knowledge in Guanacaste, especially focusing on high-end property, he knows how to market them properly and fluently speaks French, English and Spanish.

5 QUICK QUESTIONS WITH EWEN DUSCH

Christie's Team: Hi Ewen, How is everything today?

Ewen: Hi there, I should say Bonjour since I don't have the opportunity to speak a lot of French these days.

CT: How would your friends describe you?

EW: They would probably say that I'm straight to the point, honest and sometimes a bit too perfectionist. Also that I like going on adventures, that's probably why I love Costa Rica so much.

CT: We all do! How has it been to move from Paris to Costa Rica?

EW: In the beginning, it was a bit rough, learning the language, getting used to the weather and some of the relocation processes are not easy when you don't have someone with experience behind you.

Now, I feel blessed every day to wake up and live my life in such a beautiful country. Every day is a new adventure and I love it. I would do it again and again if I had to repeat the process.

CT: Wonderful! What does your typical day in Costa Rica look like?

EW: I usually wake up around 7:30 am, sit down on my balcony in front of stunning Ocean View and the morning breeze flowing through, check my emails and connect myself with the environment. I like to go directly to work after a cup of fresh-pressed juice and start working right away. Helping clients and touring properties in such a setting has become a hobby for me.

I usually have lunch with my co-workers in nearby restaurants and late afternoon, when the day allows for it, I like to grab a few beers, gather up with a few friends and get up on the mountains to watch the sunset, every day offers a new scenery and I love it. We have so many sunset viewing spots here in Coco! I then get back home for dinner and like to relax, chatting with my family/friends.

Jumping on my jet-ski on the weekends has become my favorite thing recently, there are so many places that you can't access via land here in Costa Rica. I really want to start practicing my surf more.

CT: Looks like you're living quite the life, always looking for another adventure!

EW: You got it!

CT: What has been the main change compared to your previous life in Paris?

EW: Oh it's nothing alike! In Paris it used to be constant stress, people are cold and don't want to chat with you, the weather is grey and rainy, I could rant for hours lol... Here everything happens slower and the people's life is filled with joy and happiness. I have learned to help people more, stay close to nature, the world will give back to you.

CT: Thanks for taking the time to chat with us, Ewen.

EW: Thank you so much!
